PP material is the most common material in plastic flower pots. The product has a thin wall thickness and light weight. The production cycle of a flower pot can be as low as 6 seconds. The product can be stacked and the transportation cost is low, making plastic flower pots popular all over the world.
1. gate design of plastic flower pot mould
Most plastic flower pots are round or square, so in the process of making flower pot molds, the location of the gate is basically a hot runner at the bottom. The advantage of this is that during the injection molding process, the flow rate is uniform and there will be no glue running. At the same time, the cost of the hot runner is not expensive.
The purpose of the flower pot mold cooling system is to make the product cool evenly and demold in the shortest time. The arrangement of the mold cooling system directly affects the molding quality and production cost of the flower pot mold.
Impact on the quality of flower pot products: During the injection molding process, the cooling system can control the temperature of the flower pot mold. The uniform mold temperature can reduce the deformation of the product and control the size of the plastic flower pot within a reasonable tolerance range.
Impact on the cost of flower pots: The aperture of the cooling system is controlled at 6-8mm, and the number is large and closely arranged together, which can shorten the cooling time of the flower pot mold, thereby improving production efficiency, reducing the production time of a single flower pot, and achieving the purpose of reducing production costs.
For flower pots without holes at the bottom, air ejection is usually used. For flower pots with holes at the bottom, a stripper plate or ejector rod is used for ejection. During ejection, the ejector rod should be balanced to ensure that the product does not deform, break, or have white top. The position of the ejector rod should be designed so as not to affect the appearance and function of the product. Use standard ejector rods as much as possible, so that they can be replaced in time if damaged without affecting injection molding.
1. CNC processing
CNC milling of flower pot mold: Determined by the shape and structure of the flower pot, if it is a round flower pot, the processing is mainly done by CNC lathe, and the core cavity of the flower pot mold can be directly processed according to the size of the product. If it is a square or other shaped flower pot, we will first use a CNC milling machine for rough processing, and then rough processing, so that the accuracy of the flower pot mold can be completely in accordance with the design requirements.
2. EDM
Some reinforcement ribs of the flower pot mold are difficult to complete by CNC milling. For these parts that cannot be completed by CNC milling, EDM is usually used, some use graphite conductive processing, and some use copper conductive processing. EDM time will be longer, and the processing cost will also increase, so when designing flower pot products, such reinforcement ribs should be reduced as much as possible to achieve economic goals.
3. Polishing treatment
The cavity polishing requirements of the flower pot mold are very high. It needs to be manually polished along the side of the flower pot, and then machine polished to reach the polishing requirements of B2 level or above. If the polishing is uneven, wavy patterns will appear on the surface of the flower pot, affecting the appearance of the flower pot.

Reasonable product design can reduce the weight of the product, and the processing process is also easy, and injection molding is also easier. In addition to the design, the accuracy of the processing equipment also has a great impact on the flower pot mold. High-precision equipment can complete the processing of the flower pot mold in one go. The last point is the injection molding details of the flower pot mold. The selection of the material type of the plastic flower pot is very important. Some flower pots need to add some anti-ultraviolet additives to achieve better injection molding effects.
